This research project aims to assess the development of innovative capacity in China and a move of innovative activity to China. This will be analyzed from the perspective of innovative multinational companies (MNCs), as they represent the forefront of globalizing innovation, using their patents as an indicator. The research project will examine selected MNCs’ networks of co-inventors, as reflected in their patents. Hence, the project proposed here will contribute particularly to the question “Rise of China – Challenge for Trans-Atlantic Relationship?” in the SDAW call for proposals.
