Vanessa Blobel started her work as a research associate at the Institute for Economic and Cultural Geography at Leibniz University Hannover on May 15, 2023. After completing her studies in Geography (B.A.) and Economic Geography (M.A.), she will now join the project "ReDiCOV – Regional economic disparities in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak: the role of digitalization and working-from-home" as a new team member. The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and focuses on the differential impact of the Corona pandemic on regional labor markets, with a particular focus on the impact of digitization. This coincides with Vanessa Blobel's research interests, which lie primarily in the area of the economic effects of digitization at the regional level. She was able to gain experience in this field both during her work as a student assistant for Prof. Rolf Sternberg and while writing her master's thesis.
