New staff member in Economic Geography: Dmitry Boyko

The Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography welcomes Dmitry Boyko as a new staff member in the Department of Economic Geography as of June 1, 2022. He is going to support the research project Societal Transformation in a Digital Society – Raising Awareness for the Participation in a Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility Transition. He will be doing research on digital inequality related to public transport applications by conducting a social survey and quantitative data analysis, providing insights into challenges and opportunities for inclusive and participatory smart mobility solutions.

Dmitry Boyko graduated with a diploma of Engineering in Real estate management at the Volgograd State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Russia. In his later career as a co-founder and director at the private company GeoClever and as a university lecturer he focused on urban planning across Russia. Previously, he worked on the research project “Policies Against Urban Sprawl: Experience from Germany” at the ARL - Academy of Territorial Development- in Hanover as a German Chancellor fellow, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
