New scientific presentation: "Vom Latecomer zum Global Player dank Forschungs- und Entwicklungsinternationalisierung? Der Fall Huawei"

Kerstin J. Schaefer represented the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography on this year's "Symposium der Wirtschaftsgeographie", the conference of german-speaking Economic Geographers. The presentation titled "Vom Latecomer zum Global Player dank Forschungs- und Entwicklungsinternationalisierung? Der Fall Huawei" gave insights into her dissertation project. It focused on a mixed-methods study co-authored by Prof. Stefan Hennemann and Prof. Ingo Liefner about the transfer of innovative ideas within the company. The study uses new-to-the-firm combinations of technologyclasses on patents as a proxy for new ideas to unveil their systematic transfer from offshore locations to the firm's homemarket by using a surival analysis. The symposium is organized biannually at Schloss Rauischholzhausen in Hesse and is an old tradition in german-speaking Economic Geography.
