New Staff Member in Economic Geography: Leon Worbs

The Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography welcomes Leon Worbs as a new staff member in the Department of Economic Geography as of 1 December, 2022. He will initially join the team of the research project "Hidden Champions as a central element for the stabilization of rural regions in times of digitalization" (Leibniz University Hannover & Justus Liebig University Giessen) as the successor of Carsten Rietmann and will continue the work on sub-project A. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) as part of the "Federal Rural Development Program".

Leon Worbs studied Geography (B.A.) as well as Economic Geography (M.A.) at Leibniz University Hannover. He previously worked on the research project as a student research assistant and was able to use its results to write his master thesis on the topic of "Comparative Assessment of Support Measures for Hidden Champions in Rural Areas."
