The Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography welcomes Lennart Grün as a new staff member in the Department of Economic Geography as of September 1, 2022. In his PhD he will study the development and diffusion of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies, asking how these developments take place, how they differ from the developments of other technologies, and what influence policy measures can have.

Lennart Grün studied at the IWKG of the Leibniz University Hannover during his bachelor and master studies and graduated with a M.A. in Economic Geography. He is particularly interested in global sustainability challenges - such as the climate crisis - and technologies that can help solving these problems. Methodologically, he is familiar with quantitative approaches and the field of Transition Studies.
