Sören Scholvin gave his inaugural lecture on "Green hydrogen as an opportunity for regional development?" on 25 January 2024. The lecture came at the end of a successfully completed habilitation process, which includes a cumulative habilitation thesis on "Gateway Cities and their Hinterland" and a habilitation lecture on "World City Making through Branding". The eight individual contributions to the habilitation thesis were written as part of a DFG-funded research project that Sören Scholvin carried out during his time at the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography from 2015 to 2018.
