In April, the 6th NEST conference was held online. The conference is organized annually by the "Network of Early Career Researchers in Sustainability Transitions". Sebastian Losacker presented his research results on the speed of green technology diffusion in China with the title "Geography and the speed of green technology diffusion: Empirical insights from Chinese patent licensing data". In his presentation, he illustrated that green technology patents are licensed faster when licensor and licensee are located in the same region. Geographical proximity, among other (spatial) factors, is a major determinant of fast technology diffusion.
