In June, the annual meeting of the two working groups Southeast Asia and East Asia of the German Geographical Society was held online. The working groups have regional research foci and include research from different areas of physical geography as well as from human geography.
The Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography contributed two presentations on innovations in China. Sebastian Losacker discussed the diffusion of environmental innovations in China in the context of various ongoing and completed studies for his PhD project. Florian Schneider presented the research design for the project "TraKuLa", which aims in particular to show how innovation processes differ between China and Germany.
