WiGeoH-Salon stellt das Berufsfeld "Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften" vor

WiGeoH Salon presents the professional field of ‘Sustainable Management’

The WiGeoH Salon is one of the established events of the Alumni Association of Economic Geography in Hanover, highly valued by students and alumni alike. On 19 November 2025, it was that time again: moderated by Rolf Sternberg (2nd Chairman of the Board of WiGeoH e.V.), guests, students, association members and other alumni met for an informative exchange for all participants.

This WiGeoH Salon was dedicated to the professional field of ‘sustainable business’. Our alumni Jasmin Kummer (Deutsche Messe AG, Controlling/Sustainability Reporting), Alexander Bandmann (Manager Group Sustainability at the Talanx Group) and Dieter Behrendt (Climate Adaptation, City of Langenhagen) gave very vivid and open accounts of their everyday work, the importance of their earlier studies in economic geography for their entry into professional life, and the connection between course content and the skills required later in their careers. The students from different semesters and degree programmes took the opportunity to ask our guests for job application tips, required skills and individual experiences in this professional field in a relaxed atmosphere. Who better to answer these questions authentically than economic geography alumni who once studied in Hanover themselves?

The date of the next WiGeoH Salon, including the professional field to be presented, will be announced in advance on the  WiGeoH website.
