On 9 February 2022, Anne Otto habilitated at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Leibniz Universität Hannover with a thesis on "An exploration of industrial agglomeration, regional trajectories and regional inter-industry labour flows in Germany". This cumulative work is based on research activities carried out in collaboration with Leibniz Universität Hannover, but also with many international cooperation partners. Anne Otto received her doctorate from the Institute of Geography at the University of Bonn in 2004 and has been working as a senior researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Saarbrücken since 2005. The habilitation colloquium focused on labour market integration of refugees and the inaugural lecture addressed the career prospects of doctoral graduates in the context of the expansion of doctoral training in Germany. As a private lecturer, Ms Otto will teach on current topics in labour market geography and regional transformation at the Institute for Economic and Cultural Geography.
