The first students of the newly restructured Master’s program Economic Geography, Innovation and Sustainability (M.Sc.) began their studies on October 13 during the orientation week. The new thematic orientation of the program places a stronger emphasis on sustainability and strategies for sustainable development. In addition, students now have the opportunity to take elective modules in the complementary field of Planning as part of their academic specialization. The cohort brings together students from a variety of academic backgrounds, fostering a diverse and interdisciplinary learning environment.
During the orientation week from October 13 to 17, the new master’s students became acquainted with the institute, its research areas, the teaching staff, the university, and each other. The week was accompanied by numerous activities organized by the Geography Student Council. In the following week, starting on October 20, the first courses began – the IWKG looks forward to the coming semesters and to its new students!
