On 13 November 2025, the RISC’s second Cohesion Report was officially presented at the Federal Press Conference in Berlin. The report is based on four different data infrastructures located at the FDZ: the German Social Cohesion Panel (SCP), the RISC Regional Panel (RegPan), the Qualitative Panel, and the Social Media Observatory (SMO). Five climate attitude types are extracted from the data of the SCP, a panel survey of over 8,000 people representative of Germany, which differ significantly in their climate awareness and concerns regarding a climate-friendly transformation. With the participation of the IWKG, the Cohesion Report highlights opportunities and obstacles for a socio-ecological transformation supported by the general population and, based on empirical data collected at the FGZ, points out commonalities between the people behind the climate types – and which divides still need to be overcome. The Cohesion Report is available free of charge as a PDF. The data used can be accessed after registering free of charge with the FDZ.
