Sara Grobbelaar, Professor and researcher in the field of "Innovation for Inclusive Development" at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the prestigious Stellenbosch University (South Africa), visited the Institute from 22 to 26 June as part of the 51st International Seminar in Economic Geography (ISEG). Her lecture series was titled "Designing and Strengthening Innovation Systems for Inclusive Development". Sara Grobbelaar spoke across five seminars on topics including the foundations of inclusive innovation and systems thinking, the actors and structural dynamics of innovation systems, methods for diagnosing and analyzing such systems, the implementation and scaling of inclusive innovation policy, as well as social entrepreneurship, hybrid organizations, and inclusive business models. Alongside the lectures, students led interactive seminar sessions on all five days, in which the content was jointly deepened and discussed. The Institute would like to thank the 29 participating students of the Master's program "Economic Geography, Innovation and Sustainability" for their active engagement, as well as Sara Grobbelaar for her five inspiring lectures and her insights into this highly relevant topic.
