On November 1, 2022, the project "Sustainable Food Consumption in the Context of Crises: Climate Change and the Covid 19 Pandemic in Lower Saxony" started. The project investigates how current crises influence the consumption of sustainable food, based on own empirical surveys in two urban and rural regions of Lower Saxony. The project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony and runs for 3 years.

Hauke Kruse joined the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography at Leibniz Universität Hannover in November 2022 as a research assistant and will support the research project as a PhD student. Previously, he studied geography and economics (B.A.) at the University of Bremen and economic geography (M.A.) at the IWKG of Leibniz Universität Hannover. His research interests focus on sustainability, in particular the societal transition to sustainable consumption patterns. In the course of his bachelor's and master's thesis, Hauke Kruse has already worked on questions in the field of sustainable food and gained experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative data.
