Louis Knüpling from the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography (IWKG) presented on the contribution of university research to technological change in regions as part of the doctoral colloquium "Innovation, Industrial Dynamics, Entrepreneurship, Organisation and Space", or "IIDEOS" for short, on 17 February. The project presented aims to clarify whether universities, as assumed in the literature on regional innovation systems, play a particularly important role in establishing new knowledge and new knowledge combinations in regions in order to protect the regional economy from stagnation. The very personal setting of the IIDEOS colloquium provided the opportunity to present this still developing research idea to a highly qualified audience.
