On 22 and 23 February, the Department of Economic Geography of our Institute hosted the final conference of the research project "InDUI - Innovation Indicators for the Doing-Using-Interacting-Mode of SMEs". The local hosts of this conference, Rolf Sternberg and Tatjana Bennat, had put together an attractive programme with 8 presentations, comments by discussants in each session, a keynote by Prof. Andrés Rodriguez-Pose (London School of Economics, UK) as well as a panel discussion with practitioners from government agencies and innovation promotion. The online conference, organised in close cooperation with the Evangelische Akademie Loccum, was attended by 90 researchers from 13 countries. The aim of the event was to present the empirical results of the InDUI project, which ends in March, to a broad public of innovation researchers for discussion. The InDUI sub-project carried out in Hanover was also presented in a talk by Rolf Sternberg and Tatjana Bennat entitled "Innovating by interacting in SMEs: actors and barriers". A short conference report will be available on the website of the Evangelische Akademie Loccum in the next few weeks. The main results of the InDUI project were recently published in an article by "Research Policy", initially only online.
