Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography becomes associated partner of DAISEC

The Leibnizhaus in Hanover provided the festive setting for the launch event of the European Digital Innovation Hub for AI & Cybersecurity (DAISEC) on 2 February 2023. The aim of DAISEC, which is funded by the EU for an initial three years with 2 million euros annually, is to provide assistance in the introduction of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity technologies in SMEs and the public sector. The technical focus is on production, mobility and crafts, the spatial focus is on the metropolitan region of Hannover-Braunschweig-Göttingen-Wolfsburg. In addition to ten core partners (including the PZH Production Technology Centre and the L3S Research Centre), 29 associated partners support the project. One of these associated partners is the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography, whose researchers will have excellent, institutionally supported opportunities for cooperation in research projects on the spatial implications of artificial intelligence, for example, but also in practical projects in this field. Prof. Rolf Sternberg is the contact person for DAISEC at the Institute.
