Habilitation - PhD Dr. Henning Kroll

On 8th February 2019, Henning Kroll's habilitation dissertation »An Exploration of Recent Changes in European Regional Policy« was formally accepted and approved by the Leibniz University's Faculty of Natural Sciences. His cumulative dissertation builds on past years' work that has in part been performed in collaboration with the Leibniz University. Henning Kroll received his PhD at the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography in 2005 and has been working as a Senior Researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (Fraunhofer ISI) in Karlsruhe since 2006. His final oral examination by the faculty focused on »Science and Technology as driving factors of Regional Development«, his inaugural lecture on 11th April 2019 on »Regional Disparities in Transition: Considerations of Structural Weakness and Structural Change in Germany«. In his new role as adjunct professor, Henning Kroll will strengthen the long-standing collaboration between the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography and his home institution.
