As part of the research project “Pathways to Sustainability through Advanced Frugal Innovation: Innovation Emergence and Scaling in Resource Poverty”, the first project workshop took place in Hannover from 07.10.2024 to 11.10.2024.
Prof. Ingo Liefner, Steffen Bauerochse and Leon Worbs from the Institute of Economic and Cultural Geography (IWKG) spent a week discussing various strategies and methodological approaches for capturing innovation biographies of Advanced Frugal Innovation (AFI) in India and South Africa together with their international research and cooperation partners from these two countries.
The highly esteemed colleagues Prof. Balkrishna C. Rao from the Department of Engineering Design from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), India, as well as Prof. Sara Grobbelaar, Fisiwe Hlophe and Carlton Matingo from the Department of Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University (SU), South Africa, were guests for this event. The implementation and documentation of the workshop was also significantly supported by Jonas Herr (IWKG), who is working on the project as a research assistant.
