First graduate of the double degree Master's programme in Economic Geography

Two years ago, the double degree programme of the Master's in Economic Geography at our Institute started in cooperation with the University of Groningen (Netherlands). Students on this Master's programme, who begin their studies in the first semester in Hanover, continue their studies in Groningen from the third semester onwards and also complete their studies there, usually in the fourth semester, with their Master thesis. At the end of August this year, Marcel Mayimona was the first of our students to complete his double degree in Master's Economic Geography. His Master thesis entitled ‘Unlocking Regional Potential: The Impact of Interregional Linkages on Smart Specialisation’ was supervised by Dr. Milad Abbasiharofteh at the University of Groningen and assessed by three reviewers (two academics in Groningen and Prof. Rolf Sternberg from our Institute in Hanover). Congratulations!
