In August, the 11th ‘International Sustainability Transitions Conference (IST)’ of the Sustainability Transitions Research Network (STRN) took place. The conference with over 600 participants is the most important international conference in the field of sustainability transition research and was held completely online this year. Sebastian Losacker presented the results of his PhD project entitled "Regional Lead Markets for Environmental Innovation". He discussed the implications of his article (under the same title) with Ingo Liefner and gave an outlook on future research projects based on the idea of regional lead markets. In particular, he emphasized the value of patent licensing agreements as an indicator for measuring innovation diffusion processes.
