On the 4th of June the congress “Impulse zur Stärkung der Gründungskultur in Deutschland" took place in the federal ministry of economy and energy (BMWi) in Berlin. The event was organized by the RKW Kompetenzzetrum. Amongst the presentation of recent results from the newest German GEM national report, the event aimed to generate ideas to enhance the entrepreneurial culture in Germany. Among the guests were economic development agents, representatives of associations, chambers and politics as well as researchers and entrepreneurs.

As take-off, Christian Hirte, Parlamentarischer Staatssekretär of the BMWi, held a short welcoming speech. Afterwards, the complete German national team was either presenting or participating in the panel discussion “Missing Entrepreneurs”. Dr. Matthias Wallisch talked about entrepreneurial culture in general, followed by presentations of recent results of the population survey (held by Johannes von Bloh) and the expert survey (held by Dr. Natalia Gorynia-Pfeffer and Armin Baharian). Before the event closed with fingerfood and networking, Prof. Rolf Sternberg discussed how to create a more inclusive entrepreneurial environment in Germany with Cornelia Klaus (Gründerinnen-Consult), Dr. Ralf Sänger (IQ Fachstelle Migrantenökonomie) as well as Rolf Papenfuß (Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks).
